The staff also keep the establishment very clean by when customers left they clean each table off thoroughly. There is only street parking that I found. ... Read more

I work close to them, so I get their coffee and scones all the time. Coffee's great, staff is great, atmosphere is great. They go out of their way to make it amazing and it shows. Plus, Capybaras are cool 😎

I ordered the blueberry cobbler latte and it was super delicious. I love that they have seasonal drinks to change things up and the blueberry cobbler latte is the perfect summer drink. The only con I had was that the barista did not let me know that whipped cream was an extra charge. She asked if I wanted whipped cream, I thought it was a take it or leave it kind of thing where the price would be the same regardless. Unfortunately, I was not aware until after I paid that the tiny bit of whipped cream costs $0.75. I do know it was listed on their menu, but a quick note of "it is an extra charge" would have been much appreciated. The latte was $7, which is pretty pricey to me and once again, I was not aware until after I paid as the price was not listed on their menu. Show less

2 years agoGreat place to hangout. Relaxing atmosphere to study. Drinks are delicious. I had a hot chocolate. My daughter had a white chocolate macadamia oat milk. I also got a chocolate muffin.. Great coffee shop away from a lot of noise. Recommend.

6 months agoAlways consistently amazing! The staff and service is always great, I am always greeted with a warm smile and greeting. The owner is very hands on and truly wants all guests to enjoy their time and coffee when at Capybara. 10/10 recommend!

3 months agoFirst time coming here and the service was excellent. The coffee was good and bathrooms were clean. Plenty of parking in front or parking garage right behind it with a door that connects directly to it!

2 years agoThe matcha lattes are fantastic! I came here for the first time with a friend yesterday and really enjoyed my experience. The staff was friendly, atmosphere welcoming and menu options a great variety. I look forward to returning in the future.

4 months agoMy new favorite coffee shop in Knoxville. The lavender latte is wonderful and I also love the morning glory muffin! On a nice day, it’s nice to bring my laptop and work at one of the outside tables.

3 months agoThis has become my favorite coffeeshop. The staff are so warm and friendly and the atmosphere is cute. Best chai in town, it doesn't taste watered down like other places. They have excellent baked goods too.

Capybara is in a great location near campus and a nice spot to meet or study. However, the staff is extremely rigid about orders and doesn’t allow customization. I like espresso with just a few ounces of milk and often order iced cortados at other coffee shops, but was told they could only make it hot and they wouldn’t accommodate me to get my desired drink. Another time, I ordered a V60 with a light roast and was told I had to either get a medium roast or switch to a Chemex, which was more expensive. My friend wanted honey in her cappuccino, and they wouldn’t allow that either. Another friend ordered a spiced apple cider chai with whole milk but was told she had to get oat milk instead. They also told my friend she couldn’t sit and work before ordering, which added to the unwelcoming vibe. I understand they have preferences for how their drinks should be made, but reasonable customizations should be allowed. It would go a long way if they offered alternatives or worked with customers instead of flatly refusing requests. Show less

3 months agoTheir coffee isn’t the only thing that’s great, they have an amazing selection of teas. I have yet to try one I didn’t like! The staff and owners are always wonderful and friendly. It’s the perfect place to study or meet with friends. Just try it. You won’t regret it!

A cozy coffee shop. The coffee was delicious, with the cutest art on top served in a very quality mug. The baristas were very friendly. I love the seasonal menu as it add variety and festiveness. The only critique I would have is improving the food options. Great experience.
