This is by far the best retro or anything else you want video game store and the workers are so friendly they answer any questions that you have and also tell you about the games and the systems and also if you have problems with anything they will let you come back and exchange to get what you need I can honestly say I felt like I was in a time capsule going back to my childhood today and I loved and I will definitely recommend this store to anyone who is an old gamer or just starting to game trust you will not want to leave just like me lmao Show less

Do not support this place. Don’t be fooled by the modded, reskinned Game Boys behind the glass—this store is an overpriced slap in the face to retro game collectors. It’s so dimly lit you can’t properly inspect the condition of games until you walk over to the window and check under the sunlight, which feels almost intentional. Prices are heavily gouged—many games are marked well above market value, and I’ve noticed inconsistent pricing even between identical copies of the same title.. The owner seems to hire young staff who appear more focused on the store’s anime-themed aesthetic than being knowledgeable about retro games. When trying to negotiate on the overpriced inventory, you’re told the staff doesn’t have the authority and that everything goes through the owner—this is not how a local game store should operate. How this store manages to run a second location at Tanger is beyond me. At least that one has lighting, which isn’t saying much. The whole place could use one big disc resurface. You’re better off going online or driving a little further out to Palmetto Gaming in Summerville. Show less

I accidently called the Myrtle Beach location to announce my 64 was making its way to be looked at, was not even Myrtle Beaches problem, Kye was ready to jump in to get get my controller back in my hand and my games to save. I cannot express the gratitude I have for such awesome treatment. my friend showed up at the Charleston location, and just like Kye, Charleston stepped in to offer the same phenomenal service Myrtle Beach was ready to take on. I'm going to have to agree with Ray here And after reading the other reviews it seems like other people are suffering the same experience too I'm just really shocked at the higher rated reviews...Another fun fact your not allowed to ask them to open the cartridges to see if it's actually real or not, if it's a sealed game that's a completely different story And obviously that would make sense but if it's used and opened I don't see why that shouldn't be allowed so already off to a bad start Also you can ask them to play test the games so I highly recommend that screwed up and found out the hard way bought some DS games they don't work And I didn't ask for the receipt so that's on me so avoid my mistake also there 3DS and DS section isn't great at all they have more games than others on certain consoles. Actually one store I found out about is called 'Pink Gorilla Games' The owner at that store (Kelsey) seems like she honestly gets it not only that but check out her tour video by Metal Jesus on YouTube The way she organizes the games and even the packaging just seems way better and none of this sticker nonsense on the cartridge, and guess what? they actually opened their cartridges for customers to see if it's actually authentic I will be visiting her store eventually too bad she doesn't have no stores down here Even at her smaller store I mean you don't need a big store to have great variety selection of games just by her video looks like already thousand times better Also not overpriced which is very important too. Definitely the last time I will ever be going to this store and their sister store too I just don't see a point there's better stores out there Also more reasonably priced.
