Such a fun and cool atmosphere! Parking was okay, but to be expected in that part of town. Lots of space and a fun bar to sip your drink of choice. Seating is comfortable! I stopped in here this morning and ordered a creme brulee latte with a raspberry cream cheese danish. Before we get into the coffee and danish, let me say that I was really digging the design and vibe of this place. They managed to accomplish a more classy and intimate setting, but at the same time it was also laid back and easy going. I found this to be a unique combination of atmospheres for a coffee shop. Although, they do have wine and a good whiskey selection so that may be why there is an overlap in the settings that I was experiencing. I also appreciated the no laptops on the weekends concept that they have implemented. Even though I didn't find myself chatting with any locals, which is what they stated the goal of this concept is, I think it's a great idea! I find that we too often bury ourselves into technology and forget to experience the things around us. It's a step in the right direction, and a good way to increase the interactions among others. Now, back to the coffee and danish. The creme brulee latte was spot on and the danish was exactly what I needed to get my morning started. I liked the location of this place, and I definitely see The Hobbyist being one of my go to coffee shops! Show less

2 years agoI really enjoyed the Matcha latte. The Cappucino is also excellent. The service was good and they accommodated all our needs for the drinks. The cinnamon roll was very good albeit too sweet for our liking. it complements the coffee very well. If you have a sweet tooth, go for it.

The menu looked so good that I was tempted to go for a cocktail, but we had a packed day ahead. Since my friend and I are lightweights, we stuck with a matcha latte and a chai latte instead. The matcha was subtle but had a bit more flavor than most places. They've got all sorts of seating options - big tables, small ones - so it seems like a chill spot to hang out when it's not busy. Kinda bummed we couldn't try the cocktails, but it was still a nice break. Might have to come back when we've got more time to kill! Show less

I love the atmosphere but it was packed so wasn’t able to stay, and that’s OK. Not their fault. I gave the low rating because the cinnamon roll isn’t as advertised and was hard as a rock, cold and no icing. And they also don’t have silverware if we were able to stay and eat. Coffees are tiny.

I stopped by to meet up with a colleague and chat through some work, and the **atmosphere was so inviting** that we ended up staying well past our planned hour. We both ordered lattes, which were smooth and well-crafted. There’s plenty of seating, but I can see how it might get crowded during peak hours—so don’t be surprised if you end up sharing a table. The **staff was friendly**, and the overall vibe really sparked creativity and focus. The Hobbyist has officially been added to my coffee shop rotation. The espresso itself seemed to have a good flavor, but I felt like it was just one shot short of being well-balanced with the oat milk. I’d love to come back and try it hot or with an extra shot to see if that improves it! Aside from that, I had a fig & orange muffin (crazy delicious), and the bottle shop and atmosphere was fantastic! It had lots of folks hanging out even on a monday evening, and their wine and beer selection was very impressive. There was a great mix of folks working on their laptops and just hanging out, so the environment is definitely a blend of work and chill. Shoutout to the super friendly barista as well! I introduced myself to Maddie, who made our coffees and when I asked, she told me that Sunflour Baking Company Co. nearby supplies the baked goods. I appreciate the local aspect of it! And hatchet coffee is one of my favorites by the way! She talked me into the cinnamon roll & it is one of the best I have ever tasted! What a gem of a coffee shop! We went there after a walk in nearby Cordelia Park and while we are digital nomads, we were the only ones not working at the coffee shop on this visit. Lots of remote workers stlutting at the bar and scattered around the multiple seating areas, focused on laptops and enjoying drinks. Lots of beverage options, from teas and coffees, to cocktails, and a huge selection of canned drinks. A small selection of baked goods in the glass display case. We tried the iced chai tea latte with the macadamia nut milk and the Sicilian Breakfast Tea, which they brewed and iced to order. A great flavor blend with coconut, vanilla, biscotti green tea. We paired the drinks with the chai spice pumpkin muffin. Super moist and very flavorful. Friendly service, great setting and a wonderful coffee shop and bar. I'd definitely choose this place again for a perfect coffee shop setting for work or a cocktail. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars Show less
