It’s clear that a lot of thought and effort has gone into the design and ambiance of this coffee shop. There’s a nice blend of seating ranging from well-maintained couches to high top tables. Visually very interesting and has a cozy atmosphere. I came right after opening so it was mostly empty. Staff was friendly and a nice touch is the use of little number cards that the staff use to bring out your drink to you rather than yelling out when an order is ready. I just got a vanilla latte which had a great milk texture and temperature. The vanilla syrup wasn’t overdone on sweetness and had a rich, marshmallowy quality. The espresso itself wasn’t special, but it also wasn’t taking away from the drink. The only quantifiable downside was a latte priced at $7.25 is pretty steep. That said, Colattao backs the price up with a quality drink and exceptional atmosphere which is more than I would say for other local coffee shops with similar pricing. Show less

It’s clear that a lot of thought and effort has gone into the design and ambiance of this coffee shop. There’s a nice blend of seating ranging from well-maintained couches to high top tables. Visually very interesting and has a cozy atmosphere. I came right after opening so it was mostly empty. Incredible coffee, inspired holiday flavors, a diverse selection of delicious baked goods and hot food. My friend and I enjoyed a pumpkin butter latte, Monte Cristo, S'more Cruffin(which holy cow do yourself a favor and try one, incredible and they serve it to go in an upside down cup and its really cute). Zero complaints about any of the service or food. But the crowd they attract have completely overtaken the atmosphere. I recommend getting there very early and getting your order to go. Saturday by 10am the line is out the door, didnt even bother. Sunday by 9am the line is halfway to the door, the place is PACKED, and no one had a concept of volume control. If you can endure the wait in a cutesy café with nightclub density and volume, im confident you won't be dissapointed by anything they have to offer. Show less

Don't plan to study here... got kicked out while studying here, they need to make an annoucement that despite the appearances. apparently tables are not, first come first serve. My friend and I were studying for law school finals,(after buying 2 coffees easily exceeding over $20, yes it is overpriced) Shortly after, was asked to move to a smaller table because the table we were at "should be for 4-5 people" however this is not regularly enforced because we have been here before when there was only a couple sitting at this exact table for hours, and me and my 3 friends had no place to sit, but we waited patiently because we know it is first come first serve. There are only 2 actual normal sized tables in this place. We offered to move our stuff to half of the table so others could use the other half, he said that would not work because no one would sit at the table with us. (there were two individuals who sat with us earlier in the day with no issue). so he said we must move, and they have a "2-person" table for us, and i went to look at the table, and it would fit maybe 2 coffees and thats it. I added a picture for reference of our table before we left, we were not wasting a table. We both had a laptop and books, and flashcards. We planned on buying more things right before being asked to move, and we were very friendly with everyone in there. No one else was really studying, just talking. Only two tables really allow for the size of a laptop, which included the one we were using. Show less

Locals were chatting, soft music played, and the smell of fresh coffee and pastries filled the air. I love the wild but elegant style with nods to Latin American culture everywhere, though I did spot an Italian Bialetti 3 cup Moka Pot D&G for sale. It’s like a very chic apothecary that blends many worlds into one place.Everything was beautifully presented, from the latte art to the homemade scones (we tried the blueberry one. Heaven). Honestly, I’ve driven past this plaza a hundred times and never had a reason to stop until now. Colattao just became our new favorite spot. Can’t wait to come back! Show less
